Questions for God, Part 2
I'm short on time (and brainpower) for a blog entry today, so I will throw out another question for God when I die.
Where the heck did Cain's wife come from?
When Cain ditched Adam and Eve and Abel, he went somewhere else and started a family. So where did he get a wife? Did God create other people somewhere else and he found them? Did he take a sister with him?

I had a whole post typed out to you explaining this before I remembered you're a Bible literalist. DAMNATION woman! How am I supposed to show off my immense theological knowledge to you when I all I know is liberal stuff? (J/K!)
On another note, I recently read that eighty years ago, when Clarence Darrow argued against William Jennings Bryan on behalf of John Scopes (who was convicted of teaching evolution in a public school), Darrow called Bryan as a witness to testify as a biblical expert and asked him just that same question, about Cain's wife.
Darrow asked, "Did you ever discover wher Cain got his wife?"
And Bryan replied, "No sir, I leave the agnostics to hunt for her."
(That was in our Denver Post Sunday, written by the Washington Bureau chief! Isn't that a weird coincidence??)
boggles the mind.. I try not to think about that stuff b/c it will make me crazy! I have no flippin' idea.. I used to go round w/ my parents w/ "where did God come from" The "he just was" didn't fly w/ me. Still gives me a headache. So, good question for later. Till then ~ there is nothing but faith :)
I have also wondered about the wife. I asked my husband where she came from and he just shook his head and changed the subject. I guess he didn't want to think about it too much or admit that he actually has no clue.
I heard once that Adam originally has another wife "Lillith" was her name. She was not a good wife. She was cast away. The children of Lillith and Cain are supposedly the Succubus.
Here's a link talking about it.. take it for what it's worth..

I've never read that in the bible Cathy. Where do you suppose they come up w/ answers if its not written in the book?? Interesting.
She evolved from the monkeys.
Just call me "Potsticker". LOL
If God sits outside of time and sees everything at once and knows where we all heading (in some regard), it seems to me he MUST have created a wife for Cain. OR, perhaps, when Cain chose to leave the family settlement, God got real busy with some spit and dust at that point...GOOD QUESTION DARNIT!
OH...and one more thing...this is a pretty good answer:
